Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager to lead all plant operations, including production, processing, packaging, quality, warehousing, shipping, purchasing, safety, and administration. You will direct overall activities to meet customer orders and uphold Saputo’s quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting expertise, and a hands-on management style to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across multiple functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Operations Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of regulatory laws, standards and best practices in the dairy industry.
• Experience managing costs related to dairy manufacturing and packaging.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a hands-on team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant operations to maintain industry leadership and adopt new processes and technologies.
• Control expenses including shrink, yields, labor and overhead costs using Continuous Improvement techniques.
• Develop annual manufacturing expense and capital budgets based on forecasted sales and planned inventory levels.
• Provide reliable information to finance for month-end closing schedules.
• Ensure SOPs are developed and maintained for all aspects of the business.
• Implement plant safety programs and GMP compliance.
• Oversee Food Safety Policy/Program and audits of manufacturing and storage of ingredients and finished goods.
• Coordinate audits with corporate, customer and government bodies to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with other Saputo plant managers to share best practices.
• Maintain staffing levels and conduct performance evaluations.
