Job summary

Nobis Agri Science, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Dairy Nutrition and Management Consultant for the Michigan territory. You will lead account development, provide expert feed formulations, and strengthen client relationships with progressive dairy producers.

As part of a family-owned company with a strong regional reputation, you will operate with autonomy, mentor by senior nutritionists, and pursue growth opportunities through strategic service offerings and diligent follow-up with customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, agriculture, business, or relevant science-related degree.
• 5+ years’ experience in on-farm sales and/or technical support role relevant to the dairy industry.
• Critical-thinking skills: able to make tough decisions through sound reasoning.
• Technical proficiency: familiar with dairy nutrition models and farm data systems.
• Mathematical proficiency: comfortable with calculations and lab reports.
• Interpersonal skills: able to communicate with producers, vendors and peers.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost effective ration formulations maximizing income over feed cost.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Regular visits to clients; maintain logs and notes.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small groups.
• Nurture existing relationships and cultivate new opportunities.
• Quick decision making with minimal red tape.
• Report to the Director of Nutrition; no strict chain of command.
• Travel within territory; overnight travel as needed.
• Continue education and stay current with research.
• Provide client training.
