Job Summary

Dairy Leads provide leadership in the dairy department by directing and managing Team Members, ordering perishable and non-perishable products and supplies, and implementing merchandising initiatives to stimulate business growth while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits. The Dairy Lead also assists the Grocery Manager in supervising all Team Members in the dairy department. To succeed in this role, you should be a team player who understands that success depends on supporting those around you, with a drive to grow in leadership and inspire others.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in grocery/dairy or related field
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
• Control department costs and improve operations to increase profitability.
• Oversee and evaluate training provided to department employees to reduce turnover and promote efficiency.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and OSHA requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments to develop marketing plans aligned with store goals.
• Analyze customer satisfaction and team surveys to identify improvement areas and develop solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of department activities.
• Ensure proper procedures are followed to meet out-of-stock targets.
• Promote employee development and identify candidates for leadership programs.
• Understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Support a culture of safety, including food safety, team member safety, and customer safety.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques.
• Prioritize customer service in all interactions, conducted with integrity to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote diversity, inclusion, and respect among team members, customers, vendors, and the community.
• Manage inventories by tracking reports and ordering supplies to meet customer needs and maximize profits.
• Maintain records related to inventory and work processes to calculate monthly gross profit.
