Job Summary

Dairy Leads provide leadership in the dairy department by directing and managing Team Members, ordering perishable and non-perishable products and supplies, and implementing merchandising initiatives to stimulate business growth while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits. The Dairy Lead also assists the Grocery Manager in supervising all Team Members in the dairy department. Job Description

• Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in grocery/dairy or related field
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial objectives, following company guidelines and suggestions.
• Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations to increase profitability.
• Oversee and evaluate training provided to department employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and control labor costs.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment to ensure health and OSHA compliance.
• Coordinate with other departments to develop marketing plans that support store financial goals.
• Analyze customer satisfaction and team surveys to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective processes.
• Maintain accurate records of department activities for documentation purposes.
• Ensure proper procedures are followed to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Promote employee development and identify candidates for the Team Leader Development Program.
• Understand and comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Support a safety culture encompassing food safety, team member safety, and customer safety.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Conduct all business interactions with integrity, prioritizing customer service as a key differentiator.
• Foster an environment that values diversity, inclusion, and respect among team members, customers, vendors, and the community.
• Manage inventories by tracking reports and ordering supplies to meet customer needs and maximize profits.
• Maintain records related to inventory and processes to calculate gross monthly profit according to company policies.
