Job Summary

Dairy Leads provide leadership in the dairy department by directing and managing Team Members, ordering perishable and non-perishable products and supplies, and implementing merchandising initiatives to stimulate business growth while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits. The Dairy Lead also assists the Grocery Manager in supervising all Team Members in the dairy department. To succeed in this position, you should be a team player, supportive of your team, driven to grow in leadership, and capable of inspiring those around you.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
  • Experience Desired: Prior experience in grocery/dairy or related field
  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
  • Control department costs and monitor operations to increase profitability.
  • Oversee and evaluate training to reduce turnover and promote efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and OSHA standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to develop marketing plans.
  • Analyze customer satisfaction and team surveys to identify improvement areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of department activities.
  • Ensure proper procedures to meet out-of-stock goals.
  • Promote employee development and identify candidates for leadership programs.
  • Understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Support a culture of safety, including food, team member, and customer safety.
  • Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques.
  • Prioritize customer service and conduct all interactions with integrity.
  • Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Manage inventories and track reports to maximize profits.
  • Maintain records to calculate gross monthly profit according to company policy.
