Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Laboratory Technician for our East Syracuse, NY area. This contract-to-hire role focuses on analytical testing of dairy products to ensure FDA and NYS compliance, product quality, and safety.

The technician will work in a fast-paced lab and plant environment, performing microbiological, chemical, and sensory analyses. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in dairy/food science or related field, plus experience with LIMS and dairy QC testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 12 years in a food industry laboratory is highly preferred.
• Experience with microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing in dairy or food environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing on finished products and samples.
• Verify regulatory compliance with FDA and NYS standards.
• Maintain LIMS records and COAs; document results promptly.
• Follow GMPs, SOPs, and sanitation practices.
• Support SQF or similar food-safety programs.
