Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and direct team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial data and drive sales; mentor others.
• Lead a safety-focused, compliant operation.
• Mentor SDITs, hourly staff, and team leaders.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs; involved in promotions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor the team to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure teams are trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed required training.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
