Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leader to oversee daily operations, staffing, and customer service across assigned departments. You will manage hiring, coaching, and development to drive sales, maintain store standards, and ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include P&L ownership, budget adherence, and promoting Meijer’s Friendly Initiative while mentoring team members and coordinating training. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in different store areas.
• Clear and precise direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Multi-tasking across responsibilities.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Experience mentoring hourly staff and team leaders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet service and sales goals.
• Improve customer service, drive store sales and meet customer needs.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Ensure staff complete required training and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
