Job summary

Meijer is seeking a capable store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, manage staffing decisions, and support promotion decisions while upholding Meijer standards.

The role emphasizes ensuring safety, training, and exceptional service, with a focus on sales growth and efficient operations. You will contribute to a positive store image and community presence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate directions clearly and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Manage P&L, sales targets and shrink control for the department.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and maintains Meijer standards.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
