Job summary

Meijer seeks a store leader to plan, direct, and supervise team members across departments, mentoring staff and driving customer service and sales to meet company standards.

You will manage staffing, selection, training, promotions, and discipline, while owning the department's P&L and ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and product presentation. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial/statistical information to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Manages staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink for the department.
• Ensures team is trained and maintains Meijer standards and safety.
