Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer-focused associate for the dairy department. You will deliver exceptional service, assist customers with questions, and maintain a safe, clean retail space to encourage repeat visits.

You will gain knowledge of products, inform customers of dairy specials, and ensure accurate labeling, stocking, and inventory. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Retail experience required.
• Second language ability (speaking, reading and/or writing).
• Effective communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to stay calm and handle stressful situations gracefully.
• Basic math skills for handling prices and change.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and throughout the store.
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions, making suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered.
• Recommend dairy items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Notify management of safety risks or incidents and assist in safety procedures.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve customer and business issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
