Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Retail Associate to create an outstanding customer experience in the dairy department. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding safety and QA standards.

Responsibilities include answering customer questions, stocking and labeling products, and ensuring product freshness and accurate temperatures. You will promote the Customer 1st strategy and support a collaborative store environment.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in a customer-facing role.
• Second language ability (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they ordered.
• Recommend dairy items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents, risks, or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflict calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
