Job summary

Plochman Career is seeking a Wastewater DAF Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain the Dissolved Air Flotation system and related wastewater treatment equipment. You will ensure compliant and efficient removal of solids, oils, and contaminants from industrial wastewater streams.

The role involves sampling, chemical dosing, equipment inspections, and routine system maintenance, with focus on regulatory compliance, plant efficiency, and safe discharge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in wastewater treatment or DAF systems.
• State wastewater operator certification is preferred or required within regulatory timelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor DAF systems to remove solids, oils, and grease.
• Conduct routine inspections of DAF units, pumps, valves, and screens.
• Follow the Master Schedule for daily cleaning and checks.
• Adjust chemical feed systems to optimize DAF performance.
• Collect samples and perform pH, DO, turbidity, and BOD/CBOD tests.
• Maintain logs, inventories, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure wastewater discharge meets city, state, and permit requirements.
