Job summary

GFF Inc - Plochman Inc is seeking a Wastewater DAF Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain the Dissolved Air Flotation system and related equipment. The role supports regulatory compliance, plant efficiency, and safe discharge through sampling, chemical dosing, and routine system maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on DAF experience, and familiarity with wastewater parameters such as BOD, COD, and TSS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in wastewater treatment or DAF systems preferred.
• State wastewater operator certification preferred or obtainable within timeframe.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and basic repair skills.
• Ability to perform laboratory tests and interpret results.
• Familiarity with PLC/HMI for monitoring and adjustments.
• Knowledge of BOD, COD, TSS, pH, EC.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor DAF systems for solids, oils, and grease separation.
• Conduct routine inspections of DAF units and pumps.
• Perform daily cleaning and operational checks per Master Schedule.
• Adjust chemical feed systems to optimize DAF performance.
• Collect samples and perform lab tests (pH, turbidity, BOD).
• Maintain logs, inventories, and compliance records.
• Follow safety policies including LOTO and PPE.
