Job summary

Haco Culinary is seeking a Wastewater DAF Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain the Dissolved Air Flotation system and related equipment. The role supports environmental compliance, plant efficiency, and safe discharge through sampling, chemical dosing, and routine maintenance.

You will work with the Maintenance team to inspect drains, CIP effluent tanks, EQ tank, chemical feeds, and sludge handling, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to inspect and repair pumps and rotating equipment.
• Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment and DAF operation.
• Ability to perform laboratory testing and interpret results.
• Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems for monitoring and process adjustments.
• Understanding of BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, pH, EC.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and follow regulatory requirements.
• Ability to complete safety training (LOTO, HAZWOPER, OSHA)

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor DAF systems to separate solids, oils, and grease.
• Inspect DAF units, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
• Follow Master Schedule for daily DAF checks and maintenance.
• Adjust chemical feed systems to optimize performance.
• Monitor EQ tank levels, flow, and pressures.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform tests (pH, turbidity, TSS, BOD).
• Maintain instrumentation (pH meters, DO probes, turbidity meters).
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate to Maintenance leadership as needed.
• Coordinate sludge removal and prevent overflows.
• Maintain accurate operating logs and compliance documentation.
• Ensure discharged wastewater meets permits and regulatory requirements.
