Job summary

Plochman Career is seeking a Wastewater DAF Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain Dissolved Air Flotation systems and related wastewater equipment. You will support environmental compliance, plant efficiency, and safe discharge by performing sampling, dosing, inspections, and routine maintenance.

The role requires hands-on experience with DAF operation, data analysis, and knowledge of wastewater parameters such as BOD, COD, TSS, FOG, and pH.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in wastewater treatment, industrial pretreatment, or DAF systems is preferred or may be required by regulations.
• State wastewater operator certification is preferred or may be required within a designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor DAF systems for effective solids, oils, and grease separation.
• Perform routine inspections of pumps, valves, screens, and related equipment.
• Follow Master Schedule for daily DAF checks and maintenance.
• Adjust chemical feed systems for optimal DAF performance.
• Collect and test wastewater samples (pH, DO, turbidity, TSS, ammonia, BOD).
• Maintain logs, inventories, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure discharge meets city/state/permit requirements.
