Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Cytotechnologist to microscopically examine cellular samples, perform quality control, and contribute to gynecologic and non-gynecologic interpretations in the Cytopathology Lab.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with completion of an approved cytotechnology program, CLIA 88 qualification, and ASCP proficiency within six months of hire. This is a full-time, day-shift role in the Johns Hopkins Health System.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and completion of an approved cytotechnology program as required by CLIA 88.
• Coursework in molecular modalities is highly desirable.
• Must qualify as a Cytotechnologist under CLIA 88 and pass ASCP proficiency in Cytology within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Microscopically examine cellular samples from various body sites and make final cytologic interpretations for gynecologic samples within normal limits; perform preliminary interpretations for non-gynecologic samples and abnormal gynecologic samples; conduct quality control checks.
