Labcorp in Shelton, CT is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team. The role focuses on FISH analysis, technical review, and workflow coordination to support high-quality laboratory testing and patient care. Schedule: Tue–Sat, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

The ideal candidate will have FISH experience, strong technical judgment, and a commitment to quality, accuracy, and timely results, while contributing to training and team development.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG); ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine procedures including tissue culture, harvesting, slide making and banding, automated karyotyping, reagent preparation, and FISH processing, probing, and scoping.
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
