Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA seeks a Cytogenetics Technologist to perform chromosome analysis, FISH, CMA and related molecular assays on diverse specimens. The role includes cell culture, harvest, slide preparation, staining, and image analysis to support diagnosis and treatment planning.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science and be eligible for CG(ASCP) certification, with completion of a cytogenetics program or equivalent

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• or a related life sciences degree with 30 semester hours in biology and chemistry.
• Must be CG(ASCP) eligible and certified within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform chromosome analysis, FISH, CMA and other molecular assays.
• Culture, harvest, slide preparation and staining of specimens.
• Microscopic and image analysis in cytogenetics.
