Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a CY Program Assistant to engage children and youth and ensure safety in DoD programs. The role emphasizes developing social skills, healthy choices, and school readiness through planned activities and supervision.

Applicants must be 18+, provide required training/certifications, pass background checks and drug testing, and meet education requirements (HS diploma or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to complete required DoD training and certifications.
• Ability to promote positive interactions with children, youth and coworkers.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develops schedules and activity plans for daily and special events.
• Prepares and maintains indoor and outdoor activity environments.
• Supervises children and youth during activities and field trips.
• Communicates with parents and employees about program activities and progress.
• Observes development and documents progress and concerns.
