Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a CYP Assistant to work directly with children and youth on DoD installations. You will help develop social skills, promote healthy choices, and support daily activities that reinforce self-help and school readiness in a safe, engaging environment.

You will collaborate with staff to supervise participants, communicate with parents, and assist with assessments while adhering to DoD policies and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Completion of Navy Entry Level training requirement.
• Six (6) months of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting.
• Must provide a copy of your High School Diploma, GED, or College Transcripts when you apply.
• Pass pre-employment and random drug testing; a positive test can lead to removal.

Responsibilities

• Develops schedules and activity plans and implements activities to meet developmental needs.
• Instructs and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities.
• Supervises and ensures safety of children and youth during indoor, outdoor, and field activities.
• Communicates with parents and staff about child progress and program activities.
• Assists in program assessment and compliance with DoD and local policies.
