Job summary

Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a CYP Assistant to work directly with children and youth, keeping them engaged, cared for, and safe within the CYP program.

The role develops social skills, promotes healthy choices, supports self-help and school readiness, and helps children explore their environment.

Candidates must meet DoD requirements and provide education documentation; on-site childcare duties and strict safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and supervision for program participants in compliance with DoD policies.
• Maintain safety and account for whereabouts of children and youth.
• Communicate with parents and employees about program activities.
• Observe development and participate in program evaluation.
• Assist in compliance with DoD certification and accreditation standards.
