Job summary

The CYP Assistant at Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness is tasked with engaging and supervising children and youth in DoD CYP settings, ensuring safety, nutrition, and development, and following approved activities.

Responsibilities include planning curriculum, maintaining indoor/outdoor spaces, communicating with parents and staff, and ensuring compliance with DoD and installation policies; required HS diploma and completed DoD training; background checks and E-Verify apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers.
• Six (6) months of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting (Target Level).

Responsibilities

• Provides care and supervision for program participants in compliance with DoD and local policies.
• Maintains safety and accountability for children and youth.
• Supervises activities and field trips; ensures departure with authorized person.
• Interacts with parents and staff; documents progress and issues.
• Observes participants for signs of illness or neglect and reports as required.
