Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cycle Counter Lead to calibrate inventory accuracy in the distribution center and ensure proper flow of merchandise. The role involves counts, data validation, and coordinating with the Allocations Department to optimize space and processes.

Candidate should be comfortable with WMS systems, Island Pacific software, and data reporting; experience with cycle counting and inbound/outbound flow is preferred. Heavy lifting and distribution center work are expected.

Qualifications

• Intermediate math and analytical skills; ability to recognize trends.
• Proficient with WMS inventory control programs and Island Pacific; Excel/Word knowledge.
• Create reports from data sets to communicate information.
• Knowledge of UPC functionality and food date codes.
• Understanding of inbound/outbound processes and supply chain flow.

Responsibilities

• Counts pick lines and storage locations in cycle count workflow.
• Verifies packing, price, and item description for cycle counts.
• Researches and reconciles findings daily.
• Troubleshoots inventory issues; reports to supervisor.
• Updates inventory data and assigns zones for proper balancing.
• Generates velocity reports to identify high cube/volume items.
• Communicates expected freight flow to Allocations.
• Runs weekly reports on dead items and expired foods.
• Maintains safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Validates new items and updates item master in WMS.
