Job summary

MISO is offering a 2027 Summer Intern - Cybersecurity (Graduate) in Carmel, IN. This on-site, full-time internship runs during summer 2027, averaging about 40 hours per week with no visa sponsorship.

You’ll work on real cybersecurity operations, learn incident response workflows, and contribute to improvements in security processes and detections. Ideal candidates are pursuing cybersecurity, CS, IT, or related fields and have study or projects in networking, logs, scripting, and related areas.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field (undergrad or grad).
• Classes/projects in networking, OS, cybersecurity fundamentals, incident response, scripting, or log analysis.
• Curious, collaborative, accountable; able to diagnose problems and improve workflows.
• Strong analytical skills; able to explain technical problems clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support real cybersecurity operations—build automations, improve detections, analyze logs, or assist threat hunts.
• Learn how cybersecurity teams identify suspicious activity, investigate incidents, and strengthen defenses.
• Improve CTAC and Security team processes by identifying recurring issues and proposing practical solutions.
• Attend community events, socials, networking, and development programming to grow professionally.
• Wrap up with a final presentation summarizing project work, recommendations, and impact.
