Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is offering a 2027 Summer Internship Program in Carmel, IN. The role focuses on cybersecurity, information technology and related fields, with hands-on work, mentoring and real impact on grid reliability.

You’ll gain experience in threat detection, log analysis, scripting and workflow improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings at program close.

Qualifications

• Pursuing cybersecurity, computer science, information security or related fields.
• Experience with networking, operating systems, incident response, scripting or log analysis.
• Familiarity with Splunk, Defender, SentinelOne and SIEM/EDR/NDR concepts.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to explain technical problems clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support real cybersecurity operations with automations and detections.
• Analyze logs, assist with threat hunts and incident investigations.
• Help improve CTAC and Security processes and workflows.
• Participate in intern networking, events and project presentations.
• Deliver a final presentation summarizing your work and recommendations.
