Job summary

The City University of New York—Lehman College is seeking hourly Campus Security Assistant positions to support campus safety. This part-time role (up to 32.5 hours per week) involves monitoring, access control, incident response, and ensuring a welcoming campus environment while working under supervision.

Typical duties include first responder actions, patrols, logging activities, and coordination with Central Dispatch.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• High school diploma or its educational equivalent from an accredited institution.
• One year of satisfactory, full-time work experience or one year of U.S. Military service or thirty (30) semester credits from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Act as a First Responder to alarms and calls for service.
• Observe campus activities and report suspicious behavior to Central Dispatch or a ranking officer.
• Enforce college rules and regulations per SOPs.
• Check IDs and parking passes/decals as applicable.
• Answer department telephone lines, including emergency calls.
• Provide directions to campus buildings and services.
• Accept items to campus Lost and Found.
