Job summary

MITRE is seeking a cybersecurity internship candidate to collaborate with experienced professionals on real-world challenges in cybersecurity and information security. The internship provides exposure to areas such as adversary emulation, cyber forensics, threat intelligence, and policy development, with on-site responsibilities.

Candidates must be full-time students pursuing accredited degrees in cybersecurity or related fields and must remain enrolled the following semester.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree program in a Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related disciplines.
• Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the internship.
• Foundational knowledge in cybersecurity and/or information security methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.
• Must have sustained excellence in academic performance.
• This position has an on-site requirement of 3 days a week minimum.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with professionals on real-world cybersecurity challenges.
• Assist with adversary emulation and threat intelligence tasks.
• Support cyber forensics and reverse engineering activities.
• Contribute to IoT and mobile device security initiatives.
• Help engineer safe, secure, and resilient systems.
• Support cyber policy development.
