Job summary

MITRE seeks cybersecurity interns to collaborate with experts on real-world challenges across national security, health, and public services. This unpaid pool gathers candidates for multiple internships, with the main season from September through March.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in areas like adversary emulation, cyber forensics, and policy development, while meeting a minimum 3 days/week on-site requirement.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree program in cybersecurity or related fields.
• Must remain enrolled for the semester after the internship begins.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity methodologies, frameworks, tools or languages.
• Maintained excellent academic performance throughout studies.
• On-site requirement of at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced professionals on real-world cybersecurity challenges.
• Explore adversary emulation, deception, and engagement activities.
• Assist in cyber effects and reverse engineering tasks.
• Contribute to cyber forensics and threat intelligence work.
• Support OT engineering and incident response efforts.
• Help secure IoT and mobile device ecosystems.
• Assist in engineering safe, secure, and resilient systems.
• Participate in cyber policy development and related activities.
