Job summary

Permian Resources seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer in Midland, TX to design, implement, and maintain security controls across on-prem and cloud environments. You will focus on IAM, incident response, vulnerability management, and EDR/XDR, while shaping security policy and architecture.

You will lead IAM services, drive incident response, manage vulnerabilities, and deploy SIEM/EDR tooling. Collaboration with IT teams, threat analysis, and training complete the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering or related role.
• Hands-on IAM experience (SSO, MFA, conditional access, RBAC, PAM).
• Experience leading incident response (containment, eradication, recovery).
• Experience managing vulnerability programs (scanning, risk-based prioritization, remediation).
• Experience deploying and operating EDR/XDR and/or SIEM platforms.
• Security policy development and security solution design experience.
• Strong threat analysis and mitigation knowledge.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF and OT/industrial guidance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer IAM services (SSO, MFA, conditional access, RBAC, PAM).
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Drive vulnerability management, patching, and remediation tracking.
• Deploy and operate EDR/XDR and SIEM tooling across environments.
• Design and implement security solutions: firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, cloud controls.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures.
• Conduct threat analysis and risk assessments; collaborate with IT teams.
• Research new security technologies and provide security awareness training.
