Job summary

Permian Resources in Midland, TX seeks a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to own the security engineering roadmap and mentor engineers across IAM, vulnerability management, and security operations. You will design enterprise security across network, endpoints, and cloud, while guiding governance and incident response.

The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership, driving maturity and escalation management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field.
8+ years in cybersecurity engineering with demonstrated technical leadership.
Hands-on expertise across security engineering, IAM, vulnerability management, and security operations.
Strong knowledge of threat analysis, incident response, and risk-based decision making.
Familiarity with NIST CSF and security tooling.

Responsibilities

Serve as principal technical authority for security engineering, IAM, vulnerability management, and security operations.
Own the security engineering roadmap, standards, and architectures and drive maturity.
Lead evaluation and deployment of security tools and platforms and manage vendor relationships.
Design and implement enterprise security across network, endpoint, cloud, and apps.
Own identity architecture (SSO, MFA, PAM) and vulnerability management program governance.
Lead major incidents, containment, eradication, and post-incident reviews.
