Job summary

vTech Solution in Spartanburg County, SC seeks an Intermediate Business Analyst/Technical Writer to produce, standardize, and organize technical documentation for cybersecurity and recovery initiatives, collaborating with IT leadership and SMEs.

You will create SOPs, runbooks, diagrams with Visio, and manage docs using Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams/SharePoint, ensuring consistency, version control, and lifecycle practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical writing in complex IT environments.
• Advanced proficiency with Word and SharePoint, plus Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visio for diagrams and process visuals.
• Experience producing SOPs, runbooks, system documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Strong editing, information architecture, document organization, formatting, and quality-control skills.
• Ability to work directly with technical SMEs across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, and cybersecurity disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional technical documentation using standardized templates and conventions.
• Create SOPs, operational procedures, system and application documentation, runbooks, support and administrative procedures, and knowledge-base articles.
• Maintain incident-response, disaster-recovery, business-continuity, restoration, and recovery documentation in coordination with SMEs and leadership.
• Translate complex technical information and SME interviews into accurate, usable documentation for technical and operational audiences.
• Create and refine diagrams, workflows, process maps, and architecture-supporting visuals using Microsoft Visio.
• Utilize Microsoft 365 tools extensively, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint for collaboration and document management.
• Apply consistent terminology, formatting, versioning, metadata, document ownership, review dates, and change history.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to convert discovery outputs, requirements, inventories, and process maps into finalized documentation.
• Conduct document reviews with SMEs, reconcile feedback, verify technical accuracy, and prepare documents for approval and publication.
• Help establish reusable templates, style standards, naming conventions, repository structures, and documentation lifecycle practices.
