Job summary

Lafayette Group is seeking an experienced Senior Writer to provide advanced consulting support for a federal program, focusing on cybersecurity communications for government, industry, and public stakeholders.

You will craft copy, edit reports and site content, and ensure messaging aligns with client style guides while supporting program leads and SMEs. Hybrid work in Northern VA with potential for security-clearance considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Journalism, Communications, or Related Field.
• 5+ years of experience as a writer.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Develop written copy for a client's external affairs organization to enhance communications and outreach to SLTT entities responsible for critical infrastructure and cybersecurity
• Work with program managers and SMEs to gather research and develop written communications on cybersecurity topics
• Articulate complex concepts to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Write and edit reports, website content, social media content, fact sheets, stakeholder emails, SOPs, templates, and other documentation
• Provide editing suggestions to improve flow, grammar, and clarity of communications
• Build strong relationships with team members and clients related to editing work
• Follow client style guides to maintain writing/editing standards
• Respond quickly to manager and client requests with minimal direction
• Develop and maintain SOPs and QA checklists for consistency in writing/editing
