Job summary

Lafayette Group is seeking an experienced public relations specialist to support federal cybersecurity programs, working with government, industry, and public stakeholders. You will develop PR plans, communicate key messages, and collaborate with project leads to align communications with program goals.

The role is hybrid with client-site work in Northern VA, requires US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust; salary range $70K–$80K; start date 10/5/2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Public Relations (PR), Communications, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a public relations specialist.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Develop thoughtful public relations plans that reflect the needs of a client’s external affairs organization in a manner that enhances communications and outreach to state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) entities responsible for critical infrastructure and cybersecurity
• Plan the strategic direction and development of comprehensive PR campaigns
