Job summary

Great American Insurance Group’s Cyber Risk Division seeks an Underwriting Territory Manager to drive profitable new business across the East Coast. You’ll lead a small underwriting team, cultivate broker relationships, and expand the division’s presence with deep cyber expertise.

This remote role requires travel to support brokers, grow the business, and mentor staff. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of cyber underwriting, 2-4+ years of leadership, and ability to manage complex accounts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Cyber underwriting experience preferred; candidates with substantial expertise in specialty Property & Casualty lines will also be considered.
• 2-4+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated success developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing underwriting team.
• Strong technical underwriting expertise with experience handling complex cyber risks and larger accounts.
• Established broker relationships and a demonstrated ability to generate opportunities through market engagement and business development activities.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable new business production and territory expansion across the East Coast region.
• Lead, coach, and develop an underwriting team while fostering accountability, engagement, and high performance.
• Underwrite complex Cyber Risk accounts and provide technical guidance on challenging submissions and referrals.
• Execute underwriting strategies that support profitable growth, portfolio diversification, and market expansion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Leverage existing market relationships and industry connections to strengthen distribution partnerships and drive production results.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including rate adequacy, retention, loss trends, and exposure management, and recommend corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure consistent application of underwriting guidelines, pricing discipline, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze market conditions, competitive trends, and emerging cyber exposures to inform territory strategy and business planning.
• Represent the division at industry events, broker meetings, and client-facing engagements to enhance market visibility and brand presence.
• Manage territory results and operating expenses in accordance with divisional financial objectives.
