Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking Certified Welding Inspectors to perform welding bond inspections on job sites, evaluate welding quality per AWS D1.1 and ASME, and craft detailed reports.

You will review drawings, run welder qualification tests, and coordinate with project managers and clients while upholding safety standards. Candidates must have CWI D1.1 and strong documentation skills; knowledge of NDT methods is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AWS D1.1 Certified Welding Inspector (CWI D1.1) certification.
• Experience inspecting to AWS D1.1 and ASME.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and reading fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with quality/inspection procedures and audits.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding bonds on job sites and craft reports.
• Review fabrication and field erection drawings for compliance.
• Perform welder qualification tests and visual weld exams.
• Communicate with Project Manager, shop, clients, and inspectors.
• Ensure safety policies are followed; enforce safe welding practices.
• Write weld procedures – not required, but preferred.
