RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ, is hiring a Surgical Technician for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). The role involves preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons and perioperative nurses, and delivering safe, high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced environment.

You will work the day shift, 36 hours weekly, with potential weekend/holiday/on-call requirements. Requirements include a Surgical Technician program completion, CST credential, BLS, and at least 2 years of OR

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Surgical Technician program and CST credential.
Minimum of 2 years surgical technician experience in an OR.
BLS certification required.
36 hours per week, day shift 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
Weekend/holiday/on-call requirements as assigned.
Successful completion of departmental orientation and competency requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for scheduled procedures.
Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
Assist the perioperative team by providing instruments and supplies during procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons and nurses to ensure patient safety and efficient care.
Monitor the perioperative environment and support infection prevention practices.
