RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Surgical Technician for the Cardiovascular Operating Room in New Brunswick. The role includes preparing the OR, supporting surgeons and perioperative staff, and ensuring sterile technique and patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications include a Surgical Technician program, CST credential, 2+ years OR experience, and BLS. The position requires a 36-hour week day shift and availability for weekends and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

Completion of a Surgical Technician program and CST certification required (NBSTSA or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years surgical technician experience in an OR setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA).
Ability to fulfill a 36-hour per week day shift (6:00 AM–6:30 PM).
Weekend, holiday, and on-call availability as assigned.

Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for procedures.
Maintain a sterile environment and assist the perioperative team during surgery.
Support surgeons and perioperative nurses to provide patient-centered care.
Monitor safety, infection prevention, and aseptic technique throughout cases.
Assist with instrument handling and turnover between procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers and other team members.
