Capital Health is seeking a surgical technician to support operating room procedures. You will assist the surgeon by passing instruments, retracting tissue, and maintaining a sterile field under direct supervision.

Duties include preparing the OR, counting instruments, and assisting the circulating nurse with care of specimens and room turnover. No prior experience required; NJ program completion or LPN degree with current license preferred, and BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; NJ approved surgical technician program or LPN with current license.
• Certification from nationally recognized body for Surgical Technician preferred.
• BLS required; Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.

Responsabilités

• Passes instruments, retracts tissue, and assists the surgeon under supervision.
• Maintains sterile field and verifies instruments are sterile.
• Sets up operating room and supplies according to procedure and surgeon preference.
• Performs scrub duties and assists circulating nurse with care of specimens and room turnover.
• Counts instruments and trays; ensures equipment is in working order for each case.
