Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, NJ-approved surgical tech program or LPN with current license, and BLS certification. No prior experience required; benefits and ongoing training offered.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Complete NJ approved program for surgical technicians or graduate of an LPN school with current LPN license.
• Certification from a nationally recognized body for surgical technician preferred.
• Experience: No previous experience required; healthcare experience preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required or obtained by end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates needs of the surgeon, passing instruments, sutures and items as required.
• Assists the surgeon by retracting tissue and cutting suture under supervision.
• Maintains an organized sterile field throughout procedures.
• Prepares OR by opening sterile supplies and setting up the surgeon's preference card.
• Performs scrub assistance for all procedures and supports room turnover.
