Job summary

MedCadre in Colorado is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub, assist in CVOR cases, and prepare sterile setup for operative procedures. The role emphasizes maintaining sterile technique, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons during operations.

The position requires 2 years of Surgical Tech experience, 1 year CVOR scrubbing, and a qualifying Cardio background. Training in the US military may substitute formal education. On-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of Surgical Tech experience
• One (1) year CVOR scrubbing experience
• Cardio experience in resume/profile
• At least One (1) year of CV experience as a Surgical Tech
• Graduate from formal surgical technologist program is required
• Training in the US military may substitute for the completion of the formal surgical technologist training

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties and maintains sterile supplies and sterile technique.
• Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Assembles, organizes and completes case carts according to doctor’s preference lists.
• Provides appropriate instrumentation, suture and all supplies as requested and maintains a sterile environment.
• May assist surgeon by passing instruments to surgeon during cases.
• Counts sponges, needles, blades and instruments using proper technique and established policy.
• Assists in maintenance and care of specimens and prepares for laboratory analysis.
• Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials and sharps per policy.
• Assists with timely turnover of rooms, including clean up and restocking of supplies and equipment.
• Cares for instruments and equipment.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abides by service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications.
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
