Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team with aseptic technique and instrument handling. You will assist the RN circulator in patient prep, set up instruments, and ensure proper room turnover and specimen disposition.

The role requires an accredited surgical technology education, 5 years of OR experience, and NBSTSA/NCCT certification. CVOR experience is highly preferred and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology required or successful completion of military training for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist.
• 5 years of operating room experience in a surgical technologist role required.
• Current certification through NBSTSA or NCCT required.
• Meets all ST III qualifications of Surgical Tech Ladder.
• CVOR experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in aseptic technique and organization of supplies and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, instrument assembly, and room turnover.
• Performs duties per department policies and procedures.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and proper charge submission.
• Documents sterilization activities and participates in performance improvement.
