Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Surgical Support role to provide patient care during pre-operative phases and assist in the operating room. The position requires 2+ years of technical experience and a Technical/Vocational or equivalent training background.

Applicants must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) and be able to work in a fast-paced surgical environment. This PRN role offers diverse shifts and opportunities for growth within AdventHealth.

Qualifications

• Technical/Vocational training required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of technical experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases.
• Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.
