Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Surgical Technician to support pre-operative care and instrument handling. You will collect specimens, label them, and assist with maintaining sterility throughout procedures.

The role requires a Technical/Vocational School credential (Associates preferred) and 2+ years of technical experience with CVOR. BLS and CST certification are required, ACLS/PALS preferred. This position is offered on a day shift with PRN opportunities.

Job Description:

• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2+ years of technical experience [Required]
• 2+ of CVOR experience

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
