Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support perioperative teams in the operating room. The role involves assisting with patient prep, instrument handling, specimen labeling, and maintaining sterile conditions throughout procedures.

Requirements include a Technical/Vocational School background with 2+ years of technical experience, BLS CPR certification, and preferred ACLS/PALS certifications. This is an on-site PRN position within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification required.
• 2+ years of technical experience.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Formal schooling in surgical tech or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases.
• Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts during procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.
