Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Health System's Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute as a Health Unit Coordinator in the Cardiothoracic ICU. The role supports patient flow, admissions, and communications on the J5-6 Cardiovascular ICU team at the Main Campus.

You will work nights, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, greet patients, assist with transfers, manage records, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Typing, computer skills, or equivalent coursework.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
• Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
• Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
