Job summary

Microwave Techniques, LLC's Components Division in Gorham, Maine is seeking an experienced Cut Off Operator for a full-time day shift. The role is based at our Gorham facility, with Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm hours.

You will read job orders, set up and operate metal-sawing equipment, measure to spec, and maintain inventory records to support Production. Safety, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe working practices and safe machine operation.
• Experience with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Experience with various metals and plastics.
• Technical aptitude and math skills.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and activities.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• The cut off operator alters materials according to customer specifications and supplies them to Production.
• Sets up and operates metal-sawing machines, such as bandsaws, circular saws, abrasive saws, to cut metal stock to dimensions.
• Reads job order for specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut.
• Uses measuring tools to verify work conformance to specifications.
• Maintains accurate information in the inventory system.

This is a Full-Time Day Shift position in our Gorham, Maine Facility - Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• The cut off operator alters materials according to customer specifications and supplies them to Production
• Sets up and operates metal-sawing machines, such as bandsaws, circular saws, abrasive saws, to cut metal stock to dimensions
• Reads job order for specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut
• Uses a variety of tools like tape measure, calipers, height gate, protractors to measure work for conformance to specifications
• Maintains accurate information in the inventory system.
