Job summary

Microwave Techniques, LLC's Components Division in Gorham, Maine is seeking an experienced Cut Off Operator for a full-time day shift. The role is based at our Gorham facility, with Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm hours.

You will read job orders, set up and operate metal-sawing equipment, measure to spec, and maintain inventory records to support Production. Safety, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks are essential.

Qualifications

Knowledge of safe working practices and safe machine operation.
Experience with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Experience with various metals and plastics.
Technical aptitude and math skills.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods.
Ability to manage multiple projects and activities.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

The cut off operator alters materials according to customer specifications and supplies them to Production.
Sets up and operates metal-sawing machines, such as bandsaws, circular saws, abrasive saws, to cut metal stock to dimensions.
Reads job order for specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut.
Uses measuring tools to verify work conformance to specifications.
Maintains accurate information in the inventory system.
