Job summary

Blue United Sourcing LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entries and Shipping Logistics, Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Chicago area. In this role you will review shipment documents, process customs entries, and ensure timely clearance of imports while maintaining compliance.

You will build relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, and clients, handle inquiries, and support billing and reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong command of the English language.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Understanding of state, federal, and international customs and trade regulations.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership of your work.
• 3–5+ years of operational experience quoting, filing, and auditing customs entries.
• Experience working with PGAs in the customs clearance process.
• Prior administrative or customer service experience in logistics.
• Proficiency with customs entry software, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs entries and bonds for air and ocean shipments, with some cross-border shipments.
• Complete all regulatory requirements and documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances.
• Maintain client-specific HTS databases.
• Process, distribute, and release shipment documentation to carriers, freight forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner.
• Review and complete client billing based on established pricing, ensuring accurate costs and profit margins.
• Apply working knowledge of Incoterms and commercial invoice requirements.
• Build strong relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking companies, and logistics vendors.
• Prepare reports and management information as requested.
• Provide courteous, prompt, and professional customer service to clients.
