A freight forwarding company is seeking an experienced Import Coordinator / Entry Writer to support its import operations.

Candidates with experience in Import Operations, Entry Writing, Customs Brokerage Support, Air Import, Ocean Import, Freight Forwarding, ISF, or Breakbulk are encouraged to apply.

This position primarily handles Air Import Breakbulk operations and also provides backup support to the Import Brokerage team. The role covers the import process from documentation and entry processing through shipment tracking, delivery coordination, and final billing.

Responsibilities

• Process Air and Ocean import shipments
• Handle Air and Ocean Entries, including ISF
• Receive, review, and process import documentation
• Manage pre-alerts and confirm shipment arrival information
• Track and trace shipments and provide status updates to customers
• Communicate with overseas offices, carriers, vendors, and customers
• Coordinate shipment delivery
• Handle Air Import Breakbulk documentation and records
• Follow up on shipment delays or missing information
• Prepare customer quotations as needed
• Complete final billing and provide PODs
• Assist with basic AR/AP and accounting-related tasks
• Maintain accurate shipment records and reports
• Provide backup support to the Import Brokerage team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of related experience required
• 3+ years of freight forwarding / logistics industry experience preferred
• Air and/or Ocean Import experience preferred
• Entry Writer or customs-related experience preferred
• Knowledge of ISF and import documentation preferred
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carriers, vendors, and overseas offices
